My name is Bryan Kinsley and
I am the auctioneer and owner of Sunset Auction Co.
I was born and raised in New England in February, 1965. I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts called Agawam. After high school and technical school, I got interested in the travel industry and went to work for various car rental companies and small airlines in Hartford, CT. I got a job with United Airlines in Hartford in May of 1986. From there, I transfered to New Orleans, LA and then onto Miami, FL. where I have been since 1992. It is here that I met my beautiful wife, Pat to whom I have been married since October 1994. We share our lives with 1 dog and 2 cats at our home in Miami.
I have been fascinated with the auction industry for some time and have enjoyed going to and participating in auctions. Even earlier in my life when my father would take me to the auto auctions (as he has a small dealership located in my hometown), I would feel the excitement in the auction lanes and somehow wanted to be part of it. It is not until I experienced working first hand with another auctioneer, that I was able to get myself motivated to actually become an auctioneer. I went to Florida Auctioneer Academy to get the required classroom and practical training that was needed to obtain my own auctioneers license and business license. I am a graduate of the Professional Ringmen's Institute where comprehensive training to improve the techniques used as a professional auction ringman were obtained.
My goal in establishing my own business is to bring people together in a casual, friendly atmosphere and show them a good time by enjoying the auction adventure as much as I do.
I have been to hundreds of auctions with numerous auction companies. I have observed some excellent auctioneers and have learned some valuable lessons about how to run a respectable auction business and treat customers and employees professionally. It is these observations and lessons that I hope to build my auction business on properly.
I believe that these are important aspects to help make a good business into a great one.
Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. Remember the 3 R's; Respect for self, Respect for others, and Responsibility for all your actions. When you realize that you have made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. And most of all, don't let a little dispute ruin a great friendship.
